Doctoral studies are built on individual programs for independent training of candidates in scientific research in the areas defined by the basic unit or major unit. They are based on scientific research and creative activities. Doctoral studies are conducted in the form of research groups, which are led by academic personnel, who have the academic title “associate professor” or “professor”. They last no less than three academic years and no more than five academic years. In conclusion of doctoral studies, the scientific degree “Doctor” is issued.
Doctoral studies are conducted full-time at the basic unit or with extended time in those cases when the doctoral student is employed as academic staff in another higher education institution or as research staff in a basic or applied research institution.
