Open Lecture at FGJH-UT – “Crossing Borders through Teaching: An Erasmus Journey in Germany”

On March 18, an open lecture was successfully held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iris Klosi, with the participation of academic staff and students.

The event was opened by the Vice Dean for International Relations, Dr. Drita Rira, who emphasized the importance the Faculty of Foreign Languages places on internationalization, academic cooperation, and creating opportunities for the continuous development of both staff and students.

A special highlight of the event was the online participation of the German professor, Dr. Jens Andreas Faulstich, Deputy Director of Languages/International Affairs at RheinAhrCampus, who presented the university and encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme.

Prof. Klosi shared her academic mobility experience at the University of Koblenz (RheinAhr Campus, Remagen), presenting concrete teaching practices in the courses “Project Management” and “International Business,” as well as projects carried out in collaboration with students. She also outlined her international academic journey over the years—from the University of Westminster in London, to experiences in Hungary and France, and her role as a visiting lecturer in Germany—demonstrating the direct impact of these experiences on professional and pedagogical development.

She then invited Dr. Rozana Bela to share her experience at the University of Koblenz (RheinAhr Campus, Remagen), offering practical reflections on teaching and interaction in an international environment.

In conclusion, through the presentation of the project “Diversophy 2005,” Prof. Klosi encouraged students to apply for exchange programmes, inviting them to challenge themselves and go beyond boundaries—not only geographical, but also academic and personal.

This event reaffirms the important role of the Faculty of Foreign Languages as an institution committed to promoting internationalization, pedagogical innovation, and the creation of an open and collaborative academic environment aligned with European standards.

🌍📚 Such experiences demonstrate that academic exchanges are not only individual opportunities, but also powerful mechanisms for institutional development and for preparing students to meet the challenges of a global market.
