Today, at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, doctoral candidate Blerina Zaimi successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled:
📚 “Memory as a Means of Exploring the Inner World of Characters in Kazuo Ishiguro’s Novels”

The dissertation, conducted under the scientific supervision of Prof. Dr. Saverina Pasho, received the maximum score from the examining committee, representing a valuable contribution to literary studies and criticism on the works of Kazuo Ishiguro.

The study offers an in-depth analysis of the novels of Kazuo Ishiguro, the Anglo-Japanese writer and one of the most prominent voices in contemporary literature. It focuses on the central role of memory in shaping the inner world of his characters. The research argues that, in Ishiguro’s works, memory serves both as a means of preserving identity and as an obstacle to confronting reality, prompting reflection on self-knowledge, forgiveness, and forgetting.

👏 Our warmest congratulations to Blerina Zaimi!
We wish her continued success in her academic and research journey!
