Last evening, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Tirana welcomed, for the very first time, its alumni, current and former academic staff, students, and friends to Alumni Night 2026—a celebration of shared memories, gratitude, and enduring connections.
The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Esmeralda Kromidha, who emphasized in her keynote that alumni are far more than a reflection of their university years; they are active partners in the university’s growth—bridging academia and society, mentoring new generations, supporting initiatives, and promoting the institution’s values and reputation. Strengthening this network, she noted, is essential for sustainable and collective development.
The audience was also addressed by the Vice Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Anila Paparisto, who highlighted the alumni network as a vital and lasting link between the university and society. A greeting message was delivered as well by Ms. Kiduina Zaka, Chair of the University of Tirana Alumni Board, who underscored the role of this community in reinforcing academic and professional ties and in contributing to the university’s future growth.
A particularly meaningful part of the evening was the series of video messages from alumni living across the globe. Sharing memories from their student years, reflections on how the faculty shaped their professional journeys, and inspiring words for younger generations, their voices brought a powerful sense of connection—showing that, regardless of distance, belonging to the FGJH community remains strong and enduring.
One of the most moving moments of the night was the recognition of faculty members with Certificates of Appreciation, honoring their invaluable contributions to teaching, research, and the education of generations of students who continue to make an impact across academic, cultural, and professional fields.
