The event opened with a welcome address by Dean Prof. Dr. Esmeralda Kromidha, who highlighted the symbolic significance of the amphitheater located in front of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, a space that embodies communication, dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and democratic values. As an open forum for discussion, the amphitheater also reflects the Faculty’s commitment to inclusive academic and institutional communication, placing students at the heart of dialogue, collaboration, and university life.
During the event, the new students were introduced to the Faculty’s history, mission, and academic community, which will accompany and support them throughout their studies.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages has a rich heritage closely intertwined with the tradition of the University of Tirana. Since its establishment in 1957, the study of foreign languages has continued to grow and evolve, fostering a longstanding and distinguished academic tradition.
Over the decades, the Faculty has educated generations of teachers, translators, researchers, diplomats, journalists, and professionals across a wide range of fields, making a significant contribution to Albania’s academic, cultural, and public life.
Today, this legacy continues through a new generation of students who choose to study languages, technology, and cultures as a means of better understanding the world and becoming active contributors to an increasingly interconnected society.
đź’™ We wish all our students a successful start and a rewarding university experience filled with knowledge, inspiration, meaningful experiences, and new achievements.
