Objectives and Educational Activities of the Study Program

The Bachelor’s program in “Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World,” awarded as a double degree with the Università per Stranieri di Perugia (UniStraPg), is offered at the Faculty of Foreign Languages by the Department of Italian Language. It aims to prepare specialists with excellent command of written and spoken Italian, as well as of Italian culture, history, and literature, combined with advanced competencies in digital communication and technologies. This study program offers:

  • Advanced knowledge of the written and spoken language, as well as of Italian culture, history, and literature, including a critical understanding of the theories and principles in this field of study.
  • Advanced skills demonstrating a high level of competence and innovation, required to solve complex and unpredictable problems in this field of study, particularly in the context of multilingual digital communication and content.

Competencies

The program, with a broad range of courses planned over the 3 (three) years of study, encompasses diverse disciplines that ensure both general university training and specialized training in the

relevant field, and aims to:

  • Equip students with excellent knowledge of the written and spoken language, as well as of Italian culture, history, and literature;
  • Equip students with excellent knowledge of the second foreign language, Language C;
  • Achieve full command of the Albanian language(Language A);
  • Enable students to communicate and switch from one language to another, in different contexts and fields, using the appropriate linguistic register suited to the interlocutor;
  • Enable students to apply the linguistic, philological, and literary competencies acquired to carry out bibliographic research and to prepare summaries and reports on specific research topics;
  • Enable students to apply learning tools to update and deepen the topics studied, including in professional contexts, as well as to undertake further studies;
  • Enable students to use contemporary in formation and communication technology for the creation, editing, and management of multilingual digital content.
Employment and professional qualification opportunities

The Faculty of Foreign Languages offers further training for students in coordination with employers. This training covers various topics and is aligned with students’ academic background and their needs in the labor market. Students may take up part-time employment with companies with which the Faculty of Foreign Languages has signed Cooperation Agreements. Our students may find employment in the public and private sectors, including: educational institutions, digital media, communication agencies, publishing houses, cultural and tourism institutions, and translation agencies. Graduates of the Bachelor’s program may be employed as:

  • Teachers at foreign language
  • Translators, simultaneous interpreters, or cultural communication specialists.
  • Digital content managers, copywriters, or digital marketing
  • Staff of communication agencies and digital media outlets, involved in the preparation and management of multilingual online content.
  • Tour guide or client-communication coordinators serving international clients in tourism and hospitality.
  • Officers in foreign-relations and public-relations off ices of public institutions and international organizations, embassies, consulates, and Italian cultural institutes.
