The primary objective of the “German Language Didactics / Teaching” group within the Department of German Language is to provide a comprehensive overview of the group’s performance by highlighting the work carried out to date.
Reflection on the current situation and identification of key areas for future development are among the objectives of the group and will serve as a basis for designing work strategies for the years 2022–2024 at the level of the group, department, and faculty.
The academic staff members of this group are: Prof. Dr. Brikena Kadzadej, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jonida Bushi, Dr. Migena Sejdini, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ema Kristo, and Dr. Mihallaq Zilexhiu, Chair of the Group.
Objectives of the Group:
- Rigorous implementation of the programmes of the first and second cycles of study, Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.
- Updating existing programmes in accordance with the requirements of the new legislation on higher education and the labour market. Changes will be reflected upon, their outcomes will be assessed, and future developments will be anticipated through the study of labour market needs.
- Continuous evaluation of the content of syllabi, course objectives, selected literature, methodologies used for teaching and learning, assessment methods, etc.
- The German Language Didactics / Teaching group, in cooperation with other Linguistics groups within the department, may initiate projects to assess the specific professional development and training needs of academic staff.
- Promoting the sharing of teaching experiences among group members.
- The group will encourage the involvement of students and colleagues, as well as lecturers’ self-assessment, which are important factors in the teaching process.
In the field of scientific research:
Participation in scientific activities both nationally and internationally, as well as publication in internationally recognized academic journals and other scholarly outlets, will be pursued.
The group will support applications for projects within the framework of EU programmes, READ, AKKSH, University of Tirana, Faculty of Foreign Languages, etc. A particular focus of this Teaching and Research Group will be participation in ERASMUS projects in order to increase academic staff mobility, as well as joint development projects encouraged by various organizations.
The group will organize conferences within the department and encourage participation in scientific activities organized by other departments of the Faculty.
