The Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, had the pleasure of hosting an open lecture by the Ambassador of Japan to Albania, H.E. Ms. KATO Kikuko, who spoke about Japanese diplomacy and its role in strengthening international relations 🌍.
During the lecture, Ambassador Kato presented Japan’s approach to diplomacy, focusing on international institutional communication, cultural and sports exchanges ⚽, academic exchanges 🎓, as well as cultural support and donations, as essential tools for building mutual understanding and international cooperation.
Special attention was given to education and academic exchanges, including MEXT scholarships, youth programs, and support for sports federations and cultural institutions in Albania. The presentation was accompanied by audiovisual materials illustrating various aspects of Japanese culture, ranging from contemporary pop culture to traditional aesthetics and Japanese cuisine 🍣.
The event was warmly received by students and academic staff and contributed to strengthening intercultural dialogue and academic and cultural cooperation between the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Japan 🤝.
