🎓 During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha emphasized the importance of investments in modern infrastructure and technology, as well as the role of the Faculty of Foreign Languages as a key institution in academic training, scientific research, and the development of professional translation in the country, acknowledging the contribution of the Faculty in preparing new generations of specialists.
This laboratory was established within the framework of the project “Establishment of the Translation Laboratory: Innovative Technologies and European Models,” implemented by the Faculty of Foreign Languages and funded by the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI).
🔬 The laboratory is designed as a contemporary space for teaching, scientific research, and professional practice, supporting technical, editorial, and audiovisual translation, interpreting, as well as the development of language technologies. At the same time, it will assist various national institutions by providing translation services, expertise, and professional support as a service to third parties.
💻 Equipped with advanced technological devices, professional software, electronic databases, and modern individual and group workspaces, this laboratory creates new conditions for enhancing students’ practical skills and advancing scientific research. Within this framework, the laboratory also contributes to the linguistic processing of data and the creation of parallel corpora in Albanian and foreign languages, supporting scientific research and the development of language technologies.
✨ This investment further strengthens the role of the Faculty of Foreign Languages as a reference center in the field of translation and language technologies, making our students more competitive in both the national and international labor markets.
