Department Overview
The Department of Scientific Qualifications and Publications is an academic support unit established to coordinate, monitor, and document scientific qualification processes and academic publications within the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana. Its activity is carried out in full compliance with the Albanian Law on Higher Education, the Statute of the University of Tirana, the regulations of the Faculty, and all relevant institutional decisions and guidelines in force. The Department plays a key role in ensuring transparency, quality assurance, and institutional memory related to academic advancement and research output.
Mission and Core Functions
The Department aims to:
- Support academic staff in their scientific and academic career development by providing guidance, monitoring, and administrative assistance throughout the procedures for scientific qualifications and academic titles.
- Systematically record and preserve data related to research activities, scientific qualifications, and academic publications of the Faculty.
- Promote and enhance the visibility of the Faculty’s scientific research through support for publications in peer-reviewed and indexed journals, as well as participation in national and international conferences and scientific events.

In line with the Faculty of Foreign Languages Development Strategy 2024–2028, the Department of Scientific Qualifications and Publications seeks to become a central reference point for scientific research and academic publishing within the Faculty and beyond. Its strategic objectives include:
- Strengthening the research culture through the encouragement of interdisciplinary and interinstitutional collaboration among academic staff and doctoral candidates.
- Raising the quality and impact of scientific publications, with a particular focus on international indexing, citation standards, and academic integrity.
