Purpose of this group is innovations in the field of linguistics, translation as well as improvement of teaching and learning, through a series of educational, scientific and cultural activities, which will be developed throughout the 2022-2024 years.
Planned activities
- Activities with students, academic staff and the Spanish translator María Roces González in the framework of the International Book Day and Spanish Language Day. After the activity prepared by the students, the translator María Roces Gonzáles will discuss on the topic “Without translators, there is no universal literature” (Sin traductores no hay literatura universal).The activity is planned to be organized on 18/04/2023 as part of Spanish Literature Week.
- Participation in the “International Symposium on Hispanic Literature and Linguistics”, organized in cooperation with Istanbul University, Ankara University and UT, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Department of Spanish Language. The symposium will be organized on 26-28 April, 2023 in the University of Istanbul, Turkey, where lecturers from the Department of Spanish Language will participate.
- Round table with lecturers of Spanish Language Department, translators, representatives of the Dituria Publishing House and students, for the presentation and promotion of the novel “Purgatory” by Tomas Eloy Martinez, translated by the lecturer Dr. Flavia Kaba and the discussion on translation issues from Spanish to Albanian and vice versa.
- Updating the curriculum of linguistics profile subjects in order to develop the competencies of the study program.
- Annual meeting of teachers (Encuentro de profesores) in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy and Spanish language teachers of pre-university education , where language issues, didactics of translation etc. will be addressed.
- The beginning of the work on the preparation of the textual typology of the B language. This will be a research work in continuation of the first textbook ‘Descriptive Textual Typology'(Tipología Textual Descriptiva).
- Spanish language for specific purposes (cultural heritage).Allowing its application in the four modules of textual typology.
- Round table with lecturers of Spanish Language Department, translators, representatives of Dituria Publishing House and students, for the presentation and promotion of the novel ‘From Nowhere’ by Julia Navarro, translated by the lecturer Dr. Flavia Kaba and the discussion on translation issues from Spanish to Albanian and vice versa. The aim of this round table is to discuss about Spanish language, translation and literature in Albanian language, an activity that will be organized during the cultural week of the Tirana Book Fair, November 2023.
The working group plans the work according to the segments of the route or according to the topics based on the capacities and profile of everyone. Basically there will be a continuous and in-depth research process.
General objectives:
- Engagement of the staff and students of the Spanish Language Department in scientific and cultural activities;
- Gathering of materials that will serve for the design of the textbook;
- Acquaintance and discussions on linguistics problems and translation issues;
Specific objectives:
- To coordinate the work with the research group “Literature – Communication of the Spanish language” as well as with the one-year translation project financed by FFL for 2023 year, thus aiming at interdisciplinary cooperation between communication, language and translation;
- To strengthen and develop scientific research through national and international collaborations;
- To improve teaching in foreign languages as a must in specialized training;
