Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jonida BUSHI (GJUZI) is a professor and researcher with extensive experience in higher education and scientific research, working at the Department of German Language, Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana. With a 19-year dedication to teaching and studies, she has made a continuous contribution to linguistic and didactic disciplines in Albania.

After graduating with the title “German Language Teacher” in 2005, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bushi continued her academic training with Postgraduate Advanced Studies (Master) in the field of syntax. In 2007, she successfully defended her thesis: “Types of sentences in comparison between German and Albanian, linguistic and methodological-didactic description,” demonstrating a deep ability to analyze and compare complex linguistic structures. In 2014, she achieved another academic milestone by defending her PhD in text linguistics with the dissertation: “The role of anaphora and deixis in achieving cohesion and coherence – a theoretical and comparative study between the German and Albanian languages.”

In 2022, she earned the academic title of “Associate Professor”, a significant recognition for her continuous contributions to the field of linguistics and teaching.

Since August 30, 2024, she has held the position of Head of the German Language Department at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, where she continues to lead with dedication and vision.

Her main teaching and research expertise areas include the didactics and methodology of foreign language teaching, text linguistics, the history, geography, and civilization of German-speaking countries, as well as text typology and German as a second foreign language. She is committed to helping students and young researchers develop a deep understanding of these fields, encouraging a practical and research-based approach.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bushi actively participates in national and international conferences, presenting her scientific work and engaging in discussions that contribute to the advancement of linguistic and didactic knowledge. Her articles have been published in renowned scientific journals, both domestically and internationally, reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific research.

In addition, she is involved in numerous scientific and editorial boards of national and international journals and plays an important role in various national and international research projects
