The Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Esmeralda Kromidha, participated in the Discussion Forum entitled “Employment in the Tourism Sector: Human Resource Challenges and Capacity Building for Sustainable Development,” held on 11 February 2026 at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana and organized by the Albanian Tourism Union.
During the panel discussion, the Dean underlined the Faculty’s strong commitment to strengthening cooperation with the business sector in the field of tourism, particularly within the framework of the study program “Master of Science in Trilingual Intercultural and Tourism Communication”, as well as through scientific research activities and specialized training programs aimed at enhancing the qualifications of tourism professionals, in response to the growing market demand for highly skilled human resources.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that the University of Tirana plays a key role in the development of Albania’s tourism ecosystem, while the Faculty of Foreign Languages continues to serve as an active and strategic partner through its foreign language programs and industry-oriented training initiatives, thereby contributing directly to the development of professional capacities in the sector.
An additional focal point of the discussion concerned the expansion of cooperation agreements with businesses operating in the tourism sector, with the aim of facilitating professional internships and increasing employment opportunities for students and graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Languages-UT.
