Call for projects 2022 – Support for research groups in Central and East Europe

In order to contribute to the establishment of the European Scientific Research Area and to encourage the creation of international French-speaking scientific research networks, the Francophone University Agency supports the structuring and development of research in a national and international framework, and the involvement of its member institutions in this process.

In this context, in the call that AUF has opened for projects addressed to member universities in Central and Eastern Europe (AUF ECO) to support Research Teams – which carry out their research activities in observatories, research centers, networks of researchers, colleges/schools of doctorates and other organizations dedicated and recognized by the institution and which aim to federate and support French-speaking researchers, announced the winner of the project titled:

Integration of digital technology in the teaching/learning methodologies and the challenges of teacher training – INTICE”- Directed by Prof. Dr. Esmeralda KROMIDHA

Call for projects 2022 – “Support for the digital transformation of member institutions in Central and East Europe”

In the context of the project call from the Francophone University Agency 2022 the Faculty of Foreign Languages, UT was announced as winner with the project titled:

“Skill enhancement in digital pedagogy and personal data protection”- Directed by Prof. Dr. Esmeralda KROMIDHA

Activity implementation: Personal data protection

The purpose of this training is to keep all the staff of the University of Tirana informed about the “Personal Data Protection” law and its implementation in the daily work of the academic staff, academic and administrative assistants.

The activity took place in 5 days of training ensuring that:

  • System data must be accurate, up-to-date and protected from unauthorized access or modification resulting from negligence or other unforeseen situations.
  • All university structures should know their rights and be concerned about the security and use of information from the UT Information System and other applications based on the work of each employee.
  • All university employees must know the content of the regulations and the law “On the protection of personal data” and integrate it into their way of thinking and their daily activities.

Realization of the Activity: Technology Week

The training was aimed at increasing digital skills and awareness of the University’s academic staff on the use of new technologies. The activity took place in 5 days of training with the main theme “Equipping the academic staff with the methodological and technological skills necessary for learning foreign languages”.

AUF-ECO Call “Assessment of Scientific research”/ AUF-ECO “Valorisation de la recherche scientifiques”

AUF has approved the project proposed by FFL -UT directed by Prof. Dr. Esmeralda KROMIDHA, for the organization of the international conference “How do we make our cultural heritage speak?” – Creativity and mediation in the recognition of cultural heritage”, which will be held in Saranda, Albania, on December 8-9, 2022, with the following objectives:

This project aims to help the academic staff of UT, researchers, legislative authorities and affect the improvement of curricula of higher education institutions in the following fields:

  • Communication techniques in the recognition and reassessment of cultural heritage;
  • Management of the territory and resources of cultural wealth for the development of the country;
  • Information and Communication Technology and the promotion of cultural heritage;
  • Linguistic competence preparation of specialists in the field;
  • Culture and communication as an evocative tool and guide for tourist destinations;
  • The role and contribution of multilingualism in the tourism sector.
  • The right of cultural heritage and the rights referred to the UNESCO convention.

Regional call for expressions of interest 2022: Support for the organization of university sports events

Project Title: “Do sports every day, not just one week a year!” – Directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ogerta KORUTI

This project proposal was conceived within the framework of the European Sports Week, with the initiative of the European Commission for the promotion of sports and physical activity throughout Europe under the motto “#BeActive#”.

Sport and physical activity contribute to the physical and mental well-being of young people and people of any age. The Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana (FFL-UT) since many years has created its tradition in organizing sports events through its FFL Sports Club with the coordinator lecturer Dr. Ervin Hoxhaj, engaging the students of all departments as well as the academic and support staff, in various sports competitions and events.

Activity 1: Training offered by the sports and education expert with students, academic staff and academic and administrative support of both participating universities about the benefits that sport brings to every person;

Activity 2. FFL-UT, in cooperation with the Metropolitan University (UM), a Non-Public Higher Education Institution as well as one of the partners of AUF, developed the sports activity with French-speaking students and teachers and not only, to promote educational  and social values of sport.
