The Teaching and Research Group “Linguistics, Translation and Communication in French” operates within the Department of French at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana. It consists of lecturers and researchers specialized in the fields of linguistics, translation, and communication.
The group aims to develop and strengthen scientific research in accordance with the strategies of the department and the university, promoting interdisciplinary cooperation and participation in national and international projects and conferences.
Objectives
During the period 2022–2026, the Teaching and Research Group, in cooperation with national and international partners, has developed a series of projects closely related to language technologies, artificial intelligence, inclusion, and the internationalization of higher education. These initiatives include, among others:
In parallel, the projects have focused on the role of artificial intelligence in higher education, the use of Semantic Web technologies for the development of corpora and the translation of specialized texts, the development of digital resources and responsible AI models for the Albanian language in sociolinguistic studies related to communication and education of deaf people in Albania, as well as in the field of tourism communication.
Supported by dedicated scientific research funding through project calls such as “UT – Research, Excellence and Innovation,” “FGJH – Research, Excellence and Innovation,” PKKZH/AKKSHI, PIKSH/AKSHI, the Ministry of Education, and AADF, these projects demonstrate a sustained commitment to modernizing the academic offer, aligning it with international standards, and advancing research in the service of education, innovation, and the public interest.
