Visit of graduating students of the “Asim Vokshi” Language-Oriented High School to the Faculty of Foreign Languages

Today, on March 26, 2026, graduating students from the Foreign Language-Oriented High School “Asim Vokshi” visited the Faculty of Foreign Languages, specifically the Department of Turkish Language. They were accompanied by Ms. Olta, Career Development Officer, as well as by the Turkish language teachers—alumni of this department—Mr. Holger Protopapa and Ms. Antinela Delija.

The graduating students, together with their teachers, were welcomed at the Department of Turkish Language by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Dr. Kristina Sheperi, as

well as by the Turkish language academic staff: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adriatik Derjaj, Dr. Alban Foçi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Xhemile Abdiu, and the Career Development Officer, Ms. Hesiona Berhomi.

Following the presentation of the study programs offered by the Faculty of Foreign Languages, as well as the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in the Department of Turkish Language, the academic staff provided information on scholarships available to high-achieving students, cooperation with universities in Turkey, the Erasmus+ Programme, and Turkey’s support for Albanian students through scholarship schemes—many of which have been awarded to students of this department. They also discussed student clubs, the accreditation of the university, faculty, and study programs, as well as employment opportunities after graduation.

After touring the Faculty of Foreign Languages, including its libraries and translation laboratories, the students, together with their teachers and the Turkish language staff, gathered in the “Europa” hall, where the visit continued with the presentation of two videos: one about Istanbul, the spiritual capital of Turkey and its historical symbols, and the other about Ankara, the capital of Turkey, which has been designated the Tourism Capital of Turkey for 2026 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is expected to welcome visitors from all over the world. Through these videos, students were introduced to Turkey’s historical heritage, cultural richness, and renowned tradition of hospitality.

We extend our thanks to the Principal of the Foreign Language-Oriented High School, Ms. Marsida Jarani, for the cooperation, to Ms. Olta Barbullushi, Career Development Officer, to the Turkish language teachers, Mr. Holger Protopapa and Ms. Antinela Delija, for their dedication, as well as to all the graduating students who visited the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Department of Turkish Language.
