On March 27, 2026, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Tirana hosted a workshop entitled “Skills of Future Teachers in the Digital Era”, organized within the framework of the project:
“Transforming Teaching in the Service of Sustainable Development: Policies and Strategies for Initial and Continuous Teacher Education at University Level. Current Challenges and Visionary Proposals for the Teaching Profession.”
During the workshop, the working groups presented their progress to date, reflecting on key achievements and their contributions toward meeting the project’s objectives. The event served as a valuable platform for the exchange of experiences and for discussing current trends and developments in teacher education.

🌍 A distinguished contribution was made by the invited expert Mr. Calin Rus, International Expert at the Council of Europe and the Intercultural Institute in Timișoara, Romania, who shared contemporary perspectives and insights on the competencies required of today’s teachers, with particular emphasis on the role of digital transformation in education.
🎓 The workshop was also attended by the Vice Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Anila Paparisto, who addressed the challenges universities face in preparing teachers to meet the demands of the digital era.
📊 Furthermore, Ms. Ludmilla Stefani, representative of ASCAP, presented key strategic directions for the development of education, focusing on the objectives of the national education strategy up to 2030.
✨ The workshop highlighted both the challenges and achievements of higher education in teacher preparation, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development, the integration of technology, and the strengthening of inter-institutional cooperation.
