The Teaching and Research Group “Italian Linguistics”, established within the Department of Italian Language, is composed of academic staff specializing in Italian, whose education and expertise are aligned with the field of Italian linguistics.

Objectives of the Research Group:

  • Reviewing course syllabi;
  • Implementing the teaching process;
  • Monitoring course assignments;
  • Monitoring undergraduate and graduate thesis topics;
  • Administering questionnaires concerning the progress of the teaching process;
  • Promoting study programmes;
  • Assessing students.

Expected Results:

Improvement of teaching and learning through:

  • Addressing identified challenges;
  • Analysing the results of the questionnaires.

Planned Activities:

  • Promotional activities: “Translations of the works of Italian writers Alda Merini and Grazia Deledda”, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute.
  • Allocation of assignments, preparation of teaching materials for Master’s students in Teacher Education, as well as the verification and monitoring, for research and didactic purposes, of the teaching practice carried out by second-year Master’s students in Teacher Education.
  • Participation in national and international conferences and training activities: “Enhancing the Quality of the Academic Staff’s Scientific Training”;
  • Publication of conference papers in Proceedings, ISBN, ISSN, and other formats;
  • Open lectures by Italian professors and members of the Albanian diaspora: topics of interest to the Teaching and Research Group – “Exploring New Experiences and Knowledge in Italian Linguistics”;
  • Workshops, training sessions, conferences and joint publications within the framework of the agreement with the University of Siena – these activities aim to enhance the quality of research and academic publications;
  • Scientific activities and events marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Italian Language at the Faculty of Foreign Languages: “Promoting the Academic Staff’s Contributions and Achievements in the Department of Italian Language over Four Decades” (September 2024);
  • Doctoral research project in the field of Linguistics: Topic …., Research Areas.
