In the framework of the extracurricular activities and events initiated and supported by the Department of English, Faculty of Foreign Languages, the lecturers and students of English language programmes welcomed and followed attentively the informative and awareness-enhancing speech on bullying, organized at “Europa” Lecture Hall, (Faculty of Foreign Languages), May 16th 2019, in collaboration with the Albanian national Child Helpline Alo 116,.with the participation of Mr. Mirgit Vataj, Executive Director of Alo 116 and Mr. Klaudio Pulaha, case manager at Alo 116.
It was through the interactive presentations, fruitful opinion-sharing and numerous discussions that the students and lecturers present were informed about the activity of the Albanian National Child Helpline Alo 116, as well as various aspects associated with the phenomenon of bullying and cyber safety, respectively cyber bullying, mobile bullying SMSs, and other offensive postings.
In addition, in this meeting, opinions and experiences of mutual interest were shared, focusing on the importance of future collaboration targeting further awareness enhancement activities and events in connection with several aspects of the psycho-social services, indispensible for all students and staff, but currently absent at the University of Tirana.
