At the outset of the 2026–2027 academic year, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Esmeralda Kromidha, held a meeting with the Faculty’s academic staff to review the achievements of the academic year that has just concluded and to present the strategic priorities for the period ahead.
During the meeting, several of the Faculty’s major achievements were highlighted, including the expansion and restructuring of its academic portfolio through the introduction of new study programmes, the development of dual-degree programmes with international partner universities, progress in accreditation processes, increased research activity and international scholarly publications, as well as the strengthening of the Faculty’s international dimension through mobility schemes, academic projects, and institutional partnerships. Accomplishments in the areas of professional training, digital transformation, student services, career guidance, and cooperation with national and international institutions were also presented.
In her address, the Dean acknowledged the contribution of the academic staff to the achievement of the Faculty’s institutional goals and emphasized the importance of collaboration across academic units in addressing the challenges facing higher education, while further enhancing the quality, impact, and visibility of the Faculty’s activities.
The Faculty’s Strategic Action Plan for the 2026–2027 academic year was also presented. The plan outlines key priorities, including the consolidation of study programmes, the development of strategic international partnerships, the advancement of scientific research, the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into teaching and research, the expansion of lifelong learning opportunities through micro-credentials, and the enhancement of graduate employability and programme visibility.
The meeting concluded with best wishes for a successful academic year and a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to advancing institutional development, internationalization, and academic excellence at the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
