Workshop: “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Companion Volume”

On 25 April 2023, the French Language Didactics Teaching and Research Group held a workshop at the premises of the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FGJH) on the topic: “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Companion Volume.”

The academic event brought together specialists in Language Didactics from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and provided an opportunity to explore and discuss the Companion Volume in greater depth. It also facilitated important discussions on guidelines for ensuring high standards in foreign language teaching and on the learning objectives and competences to be achieved by students of foreign languages.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) has been an important European reference document since 2001. It provides a comprehensive framework of guidelines developed under the auspices of the Council of Europe, and is considered one of the fundamental reference documents for language education and assessment across Europe.

In 2018, the Companion Volume to the CEFR was published, further enriching the framework by introducing and developing additional descriptors related to the different competences and skills involved in foreign language teaching and learning.
