At the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, a certificate award ceremony was held for participants who successfully completed the Continuing Education Programme “Technical, Literary Translation and Interpreting”, implemented within the framework of the cooperation between the University of Tirana and the Ministry of Justice.
During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to participants who completed the following modules:
đź“– Technical Translation in the Field of European Union Legislation
đź“– Technical Translation in the Field of Criminal Law
The ceremony was opened by Prof. Dr. Esmeralda Kromidha, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, who highlighted the importance of developing professional competencies in specialized fields of translation, particularly official translation, as well as the role of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in preparing specialists capable of responding to the needs of public institutions and supporting the process of aligning Albanian legislation with the European Union acquis communautaire.
Prof. Dr. Anila Paparisto, Vice Rector of the University of Tirana, described the programme as a successful model of interinstitutional cooperation and as a tangible example of the university’s contribution to lifelong professional learning and development.
Ms. Vilma Xhullima, Head of the Official Translation Sector for Judicial Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice, commended the outcomes of this collaboration and emphasized the importance of the continuous updating of official translators’ knowledge and skills in order to ensure high professional standards in translation services.
Through this programme, the Faculty of Foreign Languages reaffirms its mission as Albania’s leading academic centre for the education and professional development of translators and interpreters, drawing on the expertise of its academic staff and contributing to the enhancement of translation quality in areas of strategic importance for public institutions, the justice system, and the country’s European integration process.
