Project No. 2: “The contacts of the Slavic and Balkan languages with the Albanian language viewed in terms of bilingualism, in relation to linguistic structures and didactic-teaching aspects (of Russian, Bulgarian, Turkish language)”
Project members: Prof. Assoc. Dr. Eda Shehu
Project coordinators: Prof. Assoc. Dr. Adriatic Derjaj, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Raqi Bello (2022-2024)
The general objective of the project is the treatment of the Slavic and Balkan languages (Russian, Bulgarian, Turkish) on the same level as the Albanian language, in relation to the lexical-grammatical consistencies and inconsistencies, of one-word units equivalent to those of collocations in bilingual dictionaries and methodical applications in learning a foreign language.
The specific objectives of the project are closely related to: Approaches to linguistic analysis, as well as cases of typical difficulties that appear in the mismatches (besides the matches) of linguistic structures, in the process of teaching foreign languages (Russian, Bulgarian, Turkish) to be studied in our case in relation to Albanian and adaptations or interferences within these structures of semantic-grammatical forms. This project will create opportunities to formulate special rules and systems of exercises for those phenomena of foreign languages that will be treated and that present special difficulties for teaching or learning by our students.
Regarding the special methodology, it should also be noted that the data of the approaches to linguistic analysis can be used by it in the following directions:
- The study of the similarities and differences between Albanian and Slavic and Balkan languages;
- Analysis of linguistic influences as a result of language contacts;
- Their usage as widely as possible at all language levels related to foreign language learning;
- Using them as much as is helpful and reasonable for the student.
Beneficiaries: – At the university level: lecturers, foreign language teachers, researchers, students, students studying foreign languages. – At the national level: other institutional factors for a better and more effective language policy in this area.
This project will be characterized by a free, creative approach to the interpretation of the topic, the workflow and the presentation of the results, which will be of a great value to the interested parties, etc.
Expected results
- The results of this scientific research will be reflected in various publications of articles, papers level etc, monograph level, which will be of a great value to those interested in studies in the relevant field;
- Publication of joint studies and participation in conferences;
The product/products of the project
Presentation of the platform as well as publications in scientific journals of the results achieved.
The work plan includes the methodology and techniques that are proposed to be used.
The members of this Teaching -Research Group will participate in international conferences, workshops, publications in scientific journals inside and outside the country with an impact factor evaluation.
