The Research Group for the Didactics of the French Language within the Department of French of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana, has the following objectives:

  • Structuring research in the didactics of the French language within the Department of French of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Tirana;
  • Creating synergy between research in the didactics of the French language and practices in the field;

Other long-term objectives of this research group include:

  • Defining priority research topics according to national and international strategic documents;
  • Identifying needs within the local context according to the research topics;
  • Developing local and international partnerships with the aim of establishing joint research projects;
  • Developing the research skills of Master’s and doctoral students;
  • Disseminating scientific research at the local and international levels;

“Digital Integration in Teaching/Learning Methodologies and the Challenges of Teacher Training.” Project supported by AUF.

  • ICT for the development of collaborative work
  • ICT for the development of project-based pedagogy
  • ICT for the development of distance teaching
  • ICT for the development of distance learning
  • ICT for the development of online assessment and self-assessment
  • ICT for the development of language skills in oral comprehension and expression
  • ICT for the development of language skills in written comprehension and expression
  • ICT for the development of intercultural skills
  • ICT for the development of interdisciplinary skills
  • ICT and continuous professional development of foreign language teachers
  • Development of students’/teachers’ digital culture

“Integration of Digital Tools into Flipped Classroom Pedagogy.” Project supported by the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Research topics:

  • Assessment of the current situation regarding the use of flipped classroom pedagogy at the Faculty of Foreign Languages;
  • Identification of the types of digital tools used in teaching at the Faculty of Foreign Languages;
  • Assessment of the impact of flipped classroom pedagogy on student outcomes;
  • Providing teaching staff and students with digital skills and knowledge for the use of flipped classroom concepts.

“Didactics of Foreign Languages and Cultures: From Language Policies to Teaching/Learning Approaches for Multilingual Competence,” International Scientific Conference.

Research areas of the conference:

  • Multilingualism in the Balkan context and the profile of language education policy
  • Language policy at the pre-university level
  • Multilingualism in the classroom and teaching/learning practices
  • Language policy at the university level
  • Innovation and digitalization in foreign language teaching/learning: current practices
  • Initial and continuing education of foreign language teachers according to current standards of the teaching profession
  • Quality of foreign language teaching and its assessment

Development of a guidance document for teachers on the Companion Volume to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
