Title: Engaging Teachers “Outside of the Box”
Teachers are educated with lots of theory and praxis ideas, yet when it comes to life in the classroom, teachers frequently get trapped in the “textbook box” and forget how to incorporate ideas such as music, Jazz chants, and other linguistic realia, to enhance and motivate language acquisition. Demonstrations of “outside the box” ideas will be presented, to encourage new teachers’ engagement of their students in active and engaging language acquisition techniques.
